Do you really do residential work? I thought Steel City was commercial only.
Yes. Steel City Electric built its reputation on commercial and industrial projects, and in 2026 we opened a residential service division so homeowners in Sarasota, Manatee, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Charlotte, DeSoto and Lee Counties can get the same licensed crews and standards. Our commercial work continues as the core of the company.
How much does a panel upgrade cost?
It depends on the service size, panel location, utility requirements and whether the meter and service entrance need work. We give a written price after a site visit, and we will tell you if your existing panel is fine as it is.
Can you install an EV charger at my house?
Yes. We install Level 2 (240 V) home chargers for all major vehicle brands, run the dedicated circuit, and handle the permit and inspection. If your panel does not have capacity, we will tell you your options before you buy a charger.
Do you install home standby generators?
Yes. We are Generac-certified installers and size, permit and install whole-home standby generators and automatic transfer switches, and we coordinate the gas or propane connection with your fuel provider.
