Project Overview

Steel City Electric performed the complete electrical scope for the new IKEA store in Sarasota as the Division 26 subcontractor to R.E. Crawford Construction. The project is the largest single build-out in our Florida portfolio to date and ran on a fixed retail opening schedule alongside the other trades.

Scope of Work

1,600 A, 480/277 V three-phase electrical service and main distribution
Approximately 80,000 feet of wire and conductor across the building
Installation of roughly 1,000 light fixtures and associated lighting controls
Branch power for sales floor, warehouse, restaurant and back-of-house areas
Coordination with the GC and other trades through final inspection and store opening

Project Result

The store was energized and inspected on schedule, delivered by an eight-person Steel City crew over sixteen weeks.
